On September 13, the time had come: the graduation of the 7th class of the Sport Leadership Program. A festive evening, held on the top floor of the HvA Kohnstamhuis in Amsterdam, marked the end of an intensive and inspiring process. As the sun slowly set over the city, this special location provided a view of not only the Amsterdam skyline, but also the impressive achievements of 18 driven professionals who have grown through the program over the past six months.

“How it flew by again!” sounded during the pleasant drinks that followed. The graduates completed four intensive, two-day modules together, during which they learned and discussed in depth themes such as Governance & Finance, Social Impact, High Performance, and Sports & Business. But it was also the personal leadership process that provided the best insights, conversations and growth. The value of this class also appeared to lie in this unique combination: professional knowledge, combined with personal development and connection with each other. The participants gave back to us several times.

Over the past year, the modules took place at various special locations, making each meeting a unique experience. The participants gained inspiration at the Top Sports Center in Papendal, the KNVB Campus in Zeist and during the trip abroad to Loughborough University in London. Each of these places generated new perspectives and in-depth conversations, such as the discussion in London at Wimbledon about the role of sustainability and innovation in the sports world.

Looking back on this special seventh class, we cannot help but be proud of what this group has achieved. The energy, passion and commitment were palpable in every session, and we are confident that these leaders will make their mark on the sporting world. We are therefore looking forward with great enthusiasm to the next group of the Sport Leadership Program.
